Funding

• Zebulon supports a base increase in federal funding for public schools. 

  • This funding would prioritize essential student supports first:

    • School meals (ensuring access to quality meals)

    • Teacher training

    • Mental health services (trained professionals on site)

    • Special education

    • Low-income student support

  • Remaining funds would be allocated at the discretion of the school.

Curriculum

• Zebulon supports local control over curriculum

Energy Independence

• Zebulon believes reducing reliance on fossil fuels is both an economic and national security priority

Renewable Energy

• Zebulon does not support the total elimination of fossil fuels as an energy source at this time.

  • A diversified energy grid ensures a more reliable and stable system. 

• Zebulon Strongly supports investing in renewable energy research and development.

  • Solar generation and battery storage technologies have proven to be strong investments in many other countries.

Energy Grid

• Zebulon supports research and investment to modernize our energy and data infrastructure.

Political Corruption / Accountability / Transparency

• Zebulon believes the United States currently lacks sufficient government transparency. Information should be readily available to the public.

  • Public trust in government has eroded. Zebulon aims to lead by example through regular town halls and a public transparency page on his campaign website.

  • The Department of Defense has repeatedly failed financial audits while its budget continues to grow year after year.

Citizens United

• Zebulon supports overturning Citizens United.

  • Every American citizen should have an equal voice in our political system.

  • Government must serve the people first, not corporate interests.

Insider Trading

• Zebulon believes that members of Congress should not be allowed to buy, sell, or trade individual stocks while in office.

  • Allowing stock trading while serving in Congress creates potential conflicts of interest and outside influences that undermine public trust.

    • Congress should work for the people, not for corporate interests or personal financial gain.

2 Party System

• Zebulon believes the current two-party system is harmful to the health of our democracy.

  • When only two parties dominate elections, meaningful debate and representation are limited.

• Zebulon supports Ranked Choice Voting 

  • Ranked Choice Voting allows voters to support their preferred candidate without wasting their vote.

Citizenship

• Zebulon supports a clear and efficient path to citizenship.

  • A strong immigration system welcomes people who want to work, contribute, and become part of our communities.

ICE

• Zebulon supports restructuring federal immigration enforcement by dissolving ICE and redistributing its responsibilities among other agencies.

  • This would reduce agency overlap and improve oversight, efficiency  and accountability.

Tariffs

• Zebulon does not support blanket tariffs.

  • Tariffs are a tool to be used with care, not a threat to be thrown at trade partners and allies.

Israel

• Zebulon Does not support using American Taxpayer Dollars to fund Israel’s Military

  • Our tax dollars should be spent here in the US, here in Michigan

Construction

• Zebulon supports the expansion of trade schools and programs

  • Zebulon spent 5 years as a traveling Wind Turbine Technician after attending a 6 month trade school NWREI

• Zebulon supports innovation in housing construction to reduce building costs and increase housing supply.

  • Emerging construction technologies can help address the housing shortage while lowering costs.

    • Prefabricated building systems that reduce construction time and labor costs

Ownership

• Zebulon supports first-time homebuyer incentives to help more families achieve homeownership.

  • Programs that assist with down payments and financing can help working families enter the housing market.

• Zebulon supports reasonable regulations on large-scale corporate ownership of residential housing.

Extreme Wealth

• The American Dream depends on a strong and stable middle class.

  • Extreme concentrations of wealth threaten the stability of that middle class and run counter to the principles behind the American Dream.

• Zebulon believes trillion-dollar corporations and soaring billionaire wealth are proof that trickle-down economics was never designed to work for working people

  • This economic approach has failed many Americans.

• Zebulon believes trillion-dollar corporations and aggressive mergers undermine small businesses, limit competition, and erode the core principles of capitalism.

Taxation

• Zebulon supports a simplified, government-run tax filing system.

  • No more filing taxes

    • This reform has long faced resistance from tax preparation companies that benefit financially from maintaining the current system.

• Zebulon supports a targeted wealth tax to address extreme concentrations of wealth.

  • A 5% annual tax on net wealth exceeding $1 billion 

    • A wealth tax would encourage capital to be actively invested in businesses, innovation, and economic growth rather than remaining concentrated and idle.
      
      

    • When wealth circulates through investment, wages, and new enterprises, it strengthens the broader economy and creates opportunity for more people.

•  Zebulon supports higher income tax brackets for those with incomes above certain thresholds.

  •  Lower taxes on lower incomes, and higher taxes on very high incomes.

    • The strongest and most stable middle class in American history existed during the 1950s and 1960s.

      •  During that time, the highest marginal tax rates ranged from roughly 70–90%.

  • Higher tax rates on extreme income can encourage companies to reinvest profits into wages, expansion, and innovation. 

    • In many cases, companies choose to invest in employees or growth rather than pay higher taxes.

Minimum Wage

• Zebulon supports a country wide minimum wage increase

  • Starting between $15–$20 per hour, with adjustments based on regional cost of living.

Line 5

• Zebulon believes protecting the Great Lakes must take priority over aging fossil fuel infrastructure like Line 5.

  • Renewable energy investment in technologies such as wind, solar, and grid-scale battery storage will strengthen long-term energy security while protecting the Great Lakes.

Data Centers

• Zebulon does not support a blanket prohibition on data centers

  • When (not if) outright bans fail, the greatest burden often falls on poorer and more marginalized communities.

• Zebulon supports strict zoning standards

  • Data centers should be planned with their physical footprint in mind. Minimizing environmental impact must be a top priority when approving new facilities.

  • Zebulon supports strict noise standards and monitoring requirements for data centers to minimize impacts on nearby residents and sensitive wildlife habitats.

  • Closed-loop cooling systems should be prioritized to minimize water consumption.

Firearm Education

• Zebulon believes firearm safety education should be required in certain situations.

Zebulon believes firearm education and safety training should be government funded and accessible at no cost to those who want to learn.

Deep Fakes

•  Zebulon supports making it illegal to knowingly distribute AI-generated media intended to deceive the public about real events, individuals, or elections.

  •  Political advertisements and public communications using AI-generated media should be clearly labeled.

 AI and Elections

•  Zebulon supports strict rules preventing the use of deceptive AI-generated media in election campaigns.

  • AI should not be used to impersonate candidates, fabricate statements, or mislead voters.

Transparency in AI Media

•  Zebulon supports requiring clear labeling or watermarking on AI-generated images, audio, and video used in public communications.

  •  Citizens deserve to know when media has been artificially generated or altered.

    • There are very valid arguments against this method and I am open to discussion on this subject.

Copyright and Creative Work

•  Zebulon supports protections for artists, writers, and creators whose work may be used to train AI systems.

  •  Creators should have the right to opt out or receive compensation when their work is used in AI training.

Responsible AI Development

•  Zebulon supports reasonable regulations to ensure AI systems are developed and deployed responsibly.

  • Innovation should continue, but safeguards are necessary to protect privacy, public trust, and democratic institutions.

 AI and Workers

•  Zebulon believes the economic benefits created by AI and automation should be shared broadly across society.

  • Zebulon supports exploring policies such as Universal Basic Income or shared national wealth funds to ensure technological progress strengthens the middle class rather than replacing it.

Veteran

• Zebulon fully supports the Veteran community

  • The US should acknowledge and apologize for the events in our history we are not proud of. At a minimum

  • Denial and avoidance are not the marks of a strong nation. A strong nation is willing to confront its problems and work to fix them.

LGBTQ
